Dental Core Buildup

What is a dental core buildup?

Depending on the size of the tooth and amount of damage or decay it has there may not be enough natural tooth structure remaining to support a dental crown. In this circumstance our doctors may recommend a core buildup, which will add enough structure back to your tooth, using a composite material, so a dental crown can be supported and tooth preserved.

After completing the crown preparation and core buildup on your tooth, our doctors will take a digital scan of your mouth, design and fabricate a custom crown that will securely fit onto your structurally supported tooth, in our office all in one visit.
