What is the process of getting dentures?

Our patient-focused approach is designed to achieve optimal results in terms of the function, longevity, and appearance of your dentures. The length of the denture process varies depending on each patient’s individual needs and the type of denture treatment chosen.

Consultation: Our doctors will evaluate your oral health and discuss your goals to determine the best treatment options for your specific needs.

Smile design and diagnostic wax-up: Using digital scans, photos, and models of your mouth our doctors will carefully design the shape and color of each tooth. This ensures that your new smile will not only look beautiful but also function comfortably and optimally. Once the design is complete, you will meet with our doctors to review and your potential new smile, and can make modifications, if necessary, before approving.

Interim Denture: Depending on your treatment plan, you may need additional procedures such as tooth extractions or implant placement to prepare your mouth for your final denture. While your mouth heals from these procedures, you will be fitted with an interim (temporary) denture based on the approved design. This interim denture gives you a chance to experience your new smile’s look, feel, and function, while allowing for adjustments as needed. This stage often takes time, as healing (usually around six months) is required, and your temporary denture may need several adjustments while your jaw and muscles adapt to the new bite. It is important to take this time and really pay attention to how everything looks and feels because once approved the next step is delivering the final denture.

Final Denture: Once your mouth has healed and the interim denture is functioning comfortably, your final denture is ready to be delivered. This permanent denture is designed to provide long-lasting function and beauty, allowing you to smile, eat, and speak confidently.
