Tooth Extractions
When a tooth has become decayed or damaged and is no longer savable extraction from the mouth may be the only or best option.
There are two types of tooth extractions:
Simple (basic) extraction: Your tooth is visible above the gum line and can be removed from the mouth using a specially designed instrument that will gradually ease it from the socket.
Surgical extraction: Your tooth has broken off below the gum line or is impacted (stuck) in your jawbone and/or gums and cannot be removed without cutting into the gum and/or bone.
